I got up this morning with every intention of spending a large chunk of the day at the Shooting Range I frequent. I made breakfast, got the SKS, the WASR, and the K31 out and cased them up for the trip. I cased the Thunderer as well. My P64 would be attending too, but it was right at home in my pocket. I gathered sufficient ammo to see me through the 2 or 3 hours I intended to spend sending lead down range.
Hearing protection? - Check
Eyewear? - Check

Staple gun and staples for setting targets? - Check

All ready to go and I gather up my gear to head out the door, when i hear it....
Thunder.
Did I mention it's an outdoor range?
Heres the radar I just pulled up.

The red dot north east of Dallas is approximately where the range is. I live north of there. The storm front is moving verrrrrry slowly to the SSE.
Damn it.
Looks like its tinkering in the workshop day, instead. Not as good as a range day, but still beats the hell out of working. I'll give the range another shot (hehehe) tomorrow.

There's been a lot of that across the country lately. We've had some real boomers here, too.
Sorry the storm messed up your day however, it was a nice cool down for your fellow workers.
Noticed you have the bike picture up. Hope you get a chance to take a cool ride soon. If you do, enjoy.
How's the Goldwing project progressing?
Hermit - Texas in late June is usually starting to get a bit dry, so I try not to complain when it rains. Even if it temporarily wrecks Range Day :)
Stephen - Alas, but the fates have conspired to put an end to my time with the Goldwing Project. I got her to the point where more substantial investments where needed, only to find that other projects had take its place in my heart and in my budget.
In other words: I'm broke, have a short attention span, and I needed the shop space for other things :)
She's living now with a very good friend of mine who will no doubt make something wonderful out of her and you'll read a post before long where I kick myself for getting rid of her.
