But I thought it wasn't about him?....

From the National Journal:

Grassley (Senate Finance Ranking Member) said he spoke with a Democratic House member last week who shared Obama's bleak reaction during a private meeting to reports that some factions of House Democrats were lining up to stall or even take down the overhaul unless leaders made major changes.

"Let's just lay everything on the table," Grassley said. "A Democrat congressman last week told me after a conversation with the president that the president had trouble in the House of Representatives, and it wasn't going to pass if there weren't some changes made ... and the president says,

'You're going to destroy my presidency.' "

The White House did not respond to requests for comment.

So that's his big concern?... He's not worried about the "uninsured", or the hard working people of this nation.

But it's not about him.

He's never been worried about anyone else. He wants to expand his power and he sees the failure of one of his pet projects as both a failure to expand his power and a threat to future expansion of his power.

Seriously, the guy is like some of the worst Roman emperors. Everything is about him.

Hermit & Bitmap -

And yet, so many people see him as so much more "caring" and "compasionate" than the Bush/Chaney crew. Its another example of the "Fat Tony" paradigm that The Other Mike S. posted about today.

Xmichra - Probably lots of similarities between President Obama and a 5 year old... :)

One difference, though, is that your Daughter has undoubtedly been taught to respect other people's property :)
