Paladin's Random Crap - Part 4

The official name for collectible antique/vintage Gasoline Station items is "Petroliana". I don't have much of it, because its a popular area for collectors, and thus most of the interesting stuff gets really expensive.

I do have a couple of Gas Station related items, though. My favorite is an old Gilbarco Gas Pump that I found in Arkansas. She was a rusty mess when I got her, and heavy as all get out:

She still had the pumping mechanism inside, which is why she was so heavy. After getting her home, I was able to pull all that stuff out and get rid of it. Made the pump much easier to move around.

Here she is in my study, after I fixed her up:

And here she is all lit up:

My dad would give a lot for an old Mobil oil sign or gas pump.

Man, you've got it bad! What with your clocks and mixers and other assorted curios.

I'm telling you, you'll end up on Intervention one of these days... ;-)

Very nice. Once again.

Xmichra - The front will come off, but it's not hinged like a door. I've thought about putting shelves inside, but haven't gotten around to it.

Bitmap - I'm partial to Mobil stuff, because of growing up seeing the red horse over downtown Dallas. All the signage and advertising glass on my pump is reproduction. I would have had to mortgage my house for original ad glass and globe.

Mike - And just thing... I'm just grazing the surface in these posts. My crazy for old stuff runs deep, my friend :)

May your crazy for old stuff run forever.
Great job-you do nice work.
My crazy is old cars, and trucks.

See Ya

DiMw - I've been down the car and truck path myself. I love it, but the smaller stuff is more within my budget :)

What year was the pump built and do you remember or still have the price per gallon on the pump when she was found?

Nice job on the restoration.
