Simone Simon was a French born actress. She began acting in Paris in the early 1930s, and then came to the US during WWII. She made mediocre films in Paris, and largely continued the trend in the US before going back to France after the war...

She's best known in this country for her work in Cat People and Curse of the Cat People. Her character would turn into a Panther, kinda like a werewolf, whenever she got "aroused". Sounds like a bad plot to a porno movie to me, but at least the movie was successful enough to give rise to a sequel.
There's just something about a woman speaking french or having a french accent, for that matter.... you know? Say what you like about the French. Their language is one of the most beautiful and musical sounding to me.

The french accent is nice with people who like to use it fluidly... but trust me, it more often than not sounds harsh and snooty... lol... I suppose english is like that too though ;)
Xmichra - I forgot you probably hear it all the time up there. Down here its more rare and "exotic".
I guess it also makes a difference who is speaking. Sophie Marceau with french accent is undeniably hot. Rosie O'Donnell - not so much.
