Outside workin'

I've got quite a lot of stuff to post about, but just don't have the time.... Make sure you stop by tomorrow, though, if you are a fan of the Girl Friday posts. It's the 2 year anniversary of Girl Friday!

The wonderful Texas Spring weather is letting me get caught up on a ton of projects that have been piling up all Winter.

And by "caught up on", of course, I mean work on endlessly :)

I've replaced my back deck cover, which was looking totally white trash... now its all fixed and painted. I spent this morning digging post holes with my Father over at my Sister's house, to replace her aging wooden backyard fence. This afternoon here at my house will either be cutting down a wild plumb tree that's completely out of control, or painting the woodwork around the new back door and window that I put in last fall.

Our plants are starting to perk up the looks of things in the garden/deck area to:

banksia rose 2

That's a Banksia Rose. It doesn't have thorns, and sort of grows like an old style climbing rose. It has clusters of really pretty yellow flowers.

banksia rose

zinnias bucket

Zinnias, growing in a old Ice Cream Freezer bucket.

rosemary and oregano

And the herbs are off and running too. That's Oregano coming back strong from sleeping all winter, and a second year rosemary that I've pruned back once already this spring.

Xmichra- Don't worry. In a couple of months you can gloat when I'm bitching about living on the surface of the sun :)

Albert - Yes it has! Now if I could get it to spring without killing me with Pollen, I'd be in business.

There is a banksia rose on my fence line out here in California. Thanks for supplying the name! I linked to you in an update to my blog-type thing for April 4: http://www.crowndot.com/the-world-is-charged-with-the-grandeur-of-god
