Style Saturday - 12/18/2010

I'm sure this satchel (or is it a valise?) is as expensive as hell.... but I really, really like it. I can imagine hopping into a passenger car with it during the steam era of rail travel and going off on an adventure...

I think it's a valise. Prada makes them now to look similar to these, but they are also expensive as hell. I love this style, where it would hold your umbrella. I wouldn't do so well with opening (knitting yarns were kept in a similar bag, I had yarn all over the place!).

That is very cool. If the umbrella became a sword it would be extra cool. That, sir, is an Around the World in 80 Days kind of valise. You pack light.

Reminds me of the one Buster Keaton had in this movie about seeing Canada they would show us as kids. He saw an ad in the paper to see Canada so he jumped off London Bridge and ended up on the East Coast. He road a small push cart across the country and everything he needed came out of that one bag. It was very funny and made around the end of his career but he still had the magic and it was a cool education about Canada. I have to find it and do a post about it now that you made me think about it.
