Ms. Read went on to appear in Playboy again in 1970. She also appeared in a couple of movies, including the lead role in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. She married comedian Dick Martin (as in Rowan & Martin's Laugh-in). She appeared in several TV series as a guest during the 70's, including several appearances as a panelist on the game show Match Game.
She also looks exactly like an English teacher that I had in Junior High.
I shit you not..... I had one "hot" teacher the whole time I was in school and she was a dead ringer for Dolly Read. She even had the same haircut.

With a teacher that looked like that I`m not sure if I would have gotten an A+ or failed the class miserably because I was too busy fantasizing.
She was pretty distracting. Especially when she wore her trademark jumpsuit with a zipper that went all the way up the front....
I did ok in the class though. That's why me rite so gud.
There is just something so great about a dark-haired Playmate.
Back when women were shown as real, and soft. Imagine for a moment skinning here out of a Playtex Girdle.
Man.. I'm getting too old when I can remember when that issue came out.
I'm taken by the little imperfections . . . the fading tan lines, the slightly crooked tooth. To me they demonstrate that we're dealing with REALITY, not some fouled up, airbrushed Madison Avenue conception of reality. I'll take REAL over Madison Ave any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
