Celebrating people who Hate us....

While you're watching "Christmas in Washington" on TNT December 21 - Keep this in mind while you're watching Psy perform his viral internet sensation "Gangnam Style" for the President and other Washington Elites.

Douchebag Style

At a 2004 concert, Psy took the opportunity to express exactly how he feels about the Country that educated him. The Country that protects his native South Korea. The Country that sends its young men and women to fight and die for Liberty across the globe:

"Kill those f**king Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives Kill those f**king Yankees who ordered them to torture. Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers. Kill them all slowly and painfully"

I'm sure everyone at the event (that tapes tonight) will have a wonderful time. Gangnam Style is so funny, and cool..... Good Times!

But we do have this: From a longer statement he has released now, through his Publicist:

"I'm deeply sorry for how these lyrics could be interpreted. I will forever be sorry for any pain I have caused anyone by those words."

Well, that pretty much makes everything OK for me now. How about you?

What irritates me is not so much what Douchbag said. Ducks quack like ducks, and Douchebags say Douchebag things. Its not even so much that he's "apologizing" now... 8 years after the fact and only when his douchebaggery came to people's attention. Its not even the fact that he regrets that we misinterpreted what he said.... 'cuz that's our fault ya'll. We just took it wrong.

What irritates me is that TNT knows about this. The White House knows about this.

And he's still being allowed to perform.

Obama even took down the petition on the White House website where people called on him to abstain from doing this. So much for "transparency" and "listening to the people". But then again, these two have so much in common: Both hate the American military and despise Americans unless there's American money involved.

Did you ever read Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, as opposed to just watching the movies? Tolkien discussed the attitudes of those protected from evil in a couple of places:

Tom Bombadil: "Few now remember them, yet still some go wandering, sons of forgotten kings walking in loneliness, guarding from evil things folk that are heedless."

Aragorn: "If Gondor, Boromir, has been a stalwart tower, we have played another part. Many evil things there are that your strong walls and bright swords do not stay. You know little of the lands beyond your bounds. Peace and freedom, do you say? The North would have known them little but for us. Fear would have destroyed them. But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night, if the DĂșnedain were asleep, or were all gone into the grave?

"And yet less thanks have we than you. 'Strider' I am to one fat man who lives within a day's march of foes that would freeze his heart, or lay his little town in ruin, if he were not guarded ceaselessly. Yet we would not have it otherwise. If simple folk are free from care and fear, simple they will be, and we must be secret to keep them so. That has been the task of my kindred, while the years have lengthened and the grass has grown."

Yes, I'm comparing the South Koreans to hobbits. Both have been protected from evil, and in both cases with little or no thanks. And again in Tolkien, the best example of how to treat Psy's incredible stupidity and ingratitude is to follow the example of Faramir: more inclined to pity than to scorn.

For what it's worth, it's the younger generations of South Koreans who show such ingratitude, since they never lived in an impoverished country, and only see Americans when the soldiers stationed in their land misbehave.

gfa - That explains it!

Bob - I've read all of Tolkien many times starting from when I was a wee lad - and I think the passages you quoted fit perfectly.

Yeh, Romney allows to flip flop on every opinion he ever had. This is a performer. Should he be sent to the island of lost toys with the Dixie Chicks, who were right btw. I swear sometimes you guys just LOOK for something to bitch about.

...because no one is allowed to critique what they don't like about US policy because you numnuts never make a mistake about anything.

sigh. thanks. I needed to vent that out.

Kal - I never said that he wasn't allowed to voice his opinion. That type of censorship is a Liberal tool. Not a conservative one.

You're not from here, so I'll explain how the First Amendment works: Americans have the right to voice their opinions, as guaranteed in the First Amendment to the Constitution, without interference from the Government. That in no way guarantees that you can say anything you want to without any consequences from anyone.

My point in making this post was to point out that when someone calls for the murder of the families of Americans - their children, their wives - then that person is a scumbag. If I can call attention to that fact and cause him difficulties, then that makes me smile.

Unfortunately, many in New America share your view that its OK to spout this sort of vile puke and walk away from it enjoying their fame before the American people.

I guess as long as your views reflect "Progressive" sentiments - you're OK, no matter how vile the sentiment is.
